    Water flowing freely and strongly over the dam and the river is open and free of any ice, although the Millpond is still mostly ice covered.

    Black River outflow to Lake Ontario by Don Ross

    Sunny and winds picking up with some medium current on the river. Many ducks and geese on the water. Dock has been removed for the winter so took readings near where it had been from edge of shore under the bridge on County Road 13. Some green algae along the riverbanks in spots.

    Sunny calm day with no rainfall in past 24 hours. Lake is calm and only a few birds can be heard but not seen.

    Little Bluff Conservation Area by Don Ross

    Sunny with mild winds and gentle waves on the lake. Some ducks on the water and chickadees up in the woods where the trails are. Reported when I got home to Quinte Conservation about the large amts of garbage in bags left at the parking area. Picked up some cans and bottles for recycling but not able to deal with all the garbage. ( See report )

    Sunny and calm day with gentle current on the river. Tiny bit of snow in past 24 hours.

    Near 15 KM mark in Park heading east on Hwy 60 by Don Ross

    Sunny afternoon with no wind and calm water. Some snowfall in past 24 hours. No signs of any wildlife in the area....very quiet apart from some traffic passing by on the highway.

    Larder Lake Marina by Don Ross

    Overcast morning with calm water and no wind. Has been several inches of snow during past 24 hours. Family of 4 loons still swimming and fishing in the open water nearby....tough birds! Summer dock had been removed so tests done at end of the pier instead. Ice beginning to form along the shore and most of the lake still open water for now.

    East side of Hamlet of Milford K0K2P0 by Don Ross

    No rainfall past 24 hours...overcast and calm winds. Water flowing nicely over the dam now and along the riverbed considering how bone dry it had been this summer. Still small amt of white foamy scum accumulated on the rocks . Massive flocks of migrating geese flew over us while walking from west end to east end of Millpond and many of them stopped to land on the water for a rest before carrying on south. We notice every winter that passes more of them stay over here all winter with weather being so mild now....we are the new south for some creatures due to climate change.

    West end of Hamlet of Milford at furthest west end of Millpond by Heather Ross

    No rainfall in past 24 hours. Very calm and overcast day. Can hear the waterfalls on the roadway above us as they feed into the river and millpond. Beginning to see some thin ice forming now along the edges of the pond. Picked up plastic bottles, containers and pop cans left on the bridge by a common species called “ Slobs “ .
