Help keep our community water science platform free, open, and growing.

Become a monthly donor

Why your support matters

The Water Rangers data platform costs about $1,000 CAD/month to host and around $2,500 CAD/month for regular updates and improvements. Major upgrades are covered through grants, but we rely on community support to cover ongoing costs!

Every observation, graph, and downloadable dataset takes resources to maintain... from servers and software updates to building new features that make the platform more useful! We work with talented developers and designers who give us exceptional value, often donating their time or offering discounted rates. By supporting this platform, you’re helping keep it free, open and accessible for everyone while enabling us to grow and adapt with the needs of our community scientists.

Please note: Water Rangers is a registered Canadian non-profit (not a charity), so contributions don’t receive a tax receipt, but every contribution helps keep the data flowing for communities across the world. (If you are UK-based, please contact us about donating to our UK registered charity).

Give to support our data platform

Ways to give

  • Donate monthly: help us pay for our server costs each month, keeping the platform sustainable year-round.
  • Sponsor the platform: Are you a corporation with a desire to make a difference? Help us cover development and maintenance costs!
  • Make a one-time gift: You can support our data platform or support a community in getting water testing equipment.

As we get regular donors, we'll be looking for ways to honour your contribution. You can contribute a one-time, monthly or yearly amount to help us with server costs here:
