Black River outflow to Lake Ontario by Deb Hudson
It had just stopped raining when we took the water samples. The water was murky and we saw some algae along the shore. There was a bug and insect larva in the water sample. Two people were fishing at the bridge. We saw a pair of swans with their cygnets swimming upstream of where we were taking the water samples. There was not a strong wind yet the water was flowing upstream under the bridge.

Little Bluff Conservation Area by Heather Ross
Sunny day with low wind. Swallows flying around gathering up insects. Lake level has changed drastically since first test a month ago. Waterline is now nearly up to the 3rd tier of rocks and entire length of the shoreline in this cove has a solid line of driftwood and flotsam that has accumulated there. Some green algae bloom on the rocks in the water now. Picked up a few plastic water bottles nearby and recycled.

2 June 2017
Pt. Petre Provincial Wildlife Area by Heather Ross
Sunny and windy morning with moderately strong wave action and few whitecaps further out on the lake. Interesting colour contrast in the lake today with brown much of the way from shoreline out to a definite line in the water where it became bluish/green. Lake level is extremely high compared to a month ago when previous reading taken, with no limestone ledge shoreline walkable anymore. Depth where we test is no deeper though due to the flat bottom that extends quite far out into lake. Lots of seagulls flying and squacking overhead and on the water. Picked up some garbage, plastic, paper & cans in the firepits nearby our test site, but this entire Point Petre area is regularily littered from end to end by inconsiderate & mindless people who come here to hang out in a remote region on the Lake.

Sunny day with light overcast . 4 mm rain in past 24 hours. Lake levels in PEC still very high and the dock where we walked out to take our tests is now under at least a foot of water. Got out as far as we could with our rubber boots. Saw lots of small minnows in the water, redwinged blackbirds seen and heard as well as many frogs & toads singing away. Fair bit of green algae growing along water bottom and wasn't able to see the disk at bottom this time.
