Winfield Creek at Emerson School by Maureen Keil

The creek looks so sad today--unusually low for this time of the year and clogged up. Mostly frozen, but with lots of branches and scum, half frozen, clogging up the culvert. Plastic trash sitting on the ice (plastic bottles mostly). There is a little bit of a current in the patches on top of the ice where there is muddy water. I've never seen such scummy muddy ice.
