    Oaktons lake was completely frozen over from the mid point of December through January and most of February. The ice is starting to melt now along the banks which is notable in the sample picture. Due to the ice (and my timing in Dec) today was the first sample I could take since November 2025.

    Cold temperatures the last 2 days with higher winds and no precipitation. Mostly cloudy with some sun yesterday but no snow on the ground. Thin ice forming on creek due to cold temps.

    Water level is very high as it looks like there is a beaver dam just a bit downstream from my test site.
