    Unseasonably spring like weather in upper 50F toward 60f, past month snow, freeze starting to melt from past week, and the week or so following.

    Riverview Farmstead Preserve Naperville IL South of 111th St & Book Rd by Thomas Cowan

    Test was taken Sunday February 15, 2026 at 1:50pm. Full Sun and 60 degrees with no wind. Water sample was taken from river Bank about 15' out into water. Depth of water was about 12" to 18" deep. River was flowing but was fairly shallow.

    Kane County Forest Preserve near Barnes Rd by Jane Davis

    I did two samples today. The creek was frozen but I was able to dip water out of a small hole surrounding a stick about 2 feet away from the bank. Sample 2 was also 94 ppm.

    Lake Run at Nelson Lake in Dick Young Forest Preserve by Maureen Mrenna

    Actual ppm below 28. Actual quantabs 0.4 so chloride ppm below chart Note: ice was only partially unfrozen - places with water still had ice underneath the couple inches of liquid water. I will do another reading when creek more thawed.

    Kishwaukee River South Branch at Russell Woods by Rachel Ford

    The river was fully iced over at my usual location under the bridge, so I walked upriver about a tenth of a mile to a spot where the ice was gone and the river was running fairly swiftly near the bank.

    Very smelly discharge (with a sheen on the water) is coming out of the drain included in the pictures. It drains JUST downstream of my sampling location.
