    Lots of wild garlic and nettles. Some fallen vegetation downstream from sampling site. Water level is lower than previously--not much rain recently--but still steady flow.

    Fox Wood Beck 3 by Jane Stanbury

    Low water but CSO discharging, foamy around the area where the pipe feeds in. Lots of rubbish cascading down the steep bank where the bins/skips are at the top. ALso just rubbish in the undergrowth and in the stream. No rain for quite a few days. Nitrate was higher than previously today

    seen: wood pigeon, willow tree, tree creeper. only two cormorants this time. great crested grebe in distance carex grass, lazula nivea flowered

    Seen: swan, Canadian geese, robin, 2x cormorant, male mallard, tree creeper, crow heard but not seen - great tits, robins, blue tits plants: lazula nivea has recently flowered. not as busy with people

    Fountains not active. Nesting swan. Lot of runners, walkers and dogs along paths. More litter than usual in and around the lake, maybe blown in by strong winds. No frog spawn

    Lots of wild garlic - real garlic aroma. Wood anemone further up the bank by the path. Lots of what looks like periscaria on the ground.

    Air thermometer was not working Swans came very close and we had to retreat up the bank - this site may be problematic when they are nesting.
