Landings Wood Stream by David M Jones

Happy little stream in pleasant woodland. Water colour usually reported as 'clear', but really should be 'very, very slightly tinged amber' :-) But small fish easily seen in water, no smell or algal growth. Stream flows over sand and small gravel bedding.

Polsted Lane/Withies Lane stream by Trevor Murrells

Some natural debris - sticks on side of stream bank. Sandy central stream bottom with some accumulation on the side where the pipe is located (drains to the pond near The Withies Pub?)

Outlet into Pond Wood by Trevor Murrells

I did not sample or test this location today. No water was discharging from the pipes, which bring water from the Unstead Wetland lagoons, into the pond. There was a very small pool beneath the pipes with a depth of water of no more than 3". Further away there was a larger very shallow pond/pool which I did not want to venture into on safety grounds. This pond/pool looked stagnant.

Outflow from GSTW into Wey Natural River: Trunley Heath Road by Trevor Murrells

I was able to sample directly from the pipe today due to a lowering of the river level. There was a decent flow of water coming from the outflow pipe. I noticed a washing machine smell and a small amount of bubbles as the pipe water was taken downstream. When I'm next down at Unstead Wetland Reserve I will need to cut back some of the vegetation at this sampling location which has grown quite a bit since I visited last month.
