  • 10 May 2020

Temagami Seaplane Base on Hwy 11 by Heather Ross

Sunny, cold and getting windier. No wildlife or people around the area now.

  • 10 May 2020

Kiwanis Boat Launch off Hwy 62 S of Madoc by Don Ross

Ice is off the lake now and appears as though it may have been off for several weeks already before we could get here. Was unable to do our first test of 2020 today due to people being around and not able to physical distance properly. Will try another time.

  • 10 May 2020

Near 15 KM mark in Park heading east on Hwy 60 by Heather Ross

Sunny and calm day. Just a few crows around. I would estimate the ice has been off this lake for at least 2-3 weeks but this was our first visit here since winter so marked ice off as today.

  • 10 May 2020

Behind Tim Horton's on N end of Bancroft on Hwy 2 by Heather Ross

Sunny and fairly calm day. No wildlife around but tons of cars all lined up in the Tim’s drive thru backed up right to the highway and everyone idling their cars and trucks while waiting their turns. Will we ever see the day when idling your vehicle will be as socially unacceptable as smoking in a public space ?

  • 7 May 2020

East Bayshore Waterfront Park and Herchimer Rd Boat Launch in Belleville by Don Ross

No rain in past 24 hours. Summer dock not yet installed so testing from permanent dock as in previous test. No wildlife around the area today...other than the people kind :)

  • 6 May 2020

Pt. Petre Provincial Wildlife Area by Don Ross

No rain in past 24 hours. Some clouds of small black bugs here and there but otherwise no wildlife around. Obvious signs of human visitors abound in the form of garbage everywhere......some people are worse than animals in how they treat our shared environment!

  • 4 May 2020

Picton Harbour at Mouth of Marsh Creek by Don Ross

Overcast and cool with medium winds. Only few MM rain overnight. Pair of loons fishing on the harbour and some ducks and geese around too.

  • 3 May 2020

South Bay Cres Public Boat Launch by Don Ross

Sunny day with medium winds. Lots of songbirds & crickets could be heard in the marshes, and best treat of the day was watching what I believe was an Otter ( thought Beaver at first but too narrow a head and no flat tail showing ) swim along the creek towards the culvert while another dove under the surface before I could get a great look at it.

  • 3 May 2020

Little Bluff Conservation Area by Don Ross

Lovely sunny day with medium winds. Calm water...few ducks out on it and some people sitting along the beach with their families.

  • 3 May 2020

Stream/falls at Cty Rd 10 near Cty Rd 13 by Don Ross

Bit of rain past 24 hrs...only around 1 MM. Sunny and medium winds today.

West end of Hamlet of Milford at furthest west end of Millpond by Don Ross

43 Mm rain over past 2 days and lightly drizzling off and on now. Waterfalls very loud and flowing. Have been 3 or 4 loons on the pond today and the past week ( not commonly seen here ) as well as some swan pairs, lots of ducks and geese. Songbirds all around chirping away their spring calls.

  • 1 May 2020

Bridge over Black Creek on Old Milford Rd by Don Ross

43 MM rain over past 2 days and lightly spitting now. Creek is moving along really fast and healthy looking. Can see and hear lots of songbirds .

  • 1 May 2020

East side of Hamlet of Milford K0K2P0 by Don Ross

Overcast and spitting a bit now. Have had lots of rain over past 2 days....43 MM in total. No wildlife seen but can hear songbirds off in the trees. Heavy flow of water over the dam and down the river. Quite a lot of foamy scum collecting along the rocks.

  • 5 April 2020

Black River outflow to Lake Ontario by Deb Hudson

The data was collected over two evenings (April 5 & 6) as I needed advice about getting the conductivity meter to work. On the second night I saw a small black fish that looked like it had one bulging eye and wasn't sure if it had a problem. It was swimming normally. Birds are returning - I saw ducks & red-winged black birds. The ice went out March 1st.
