Many were coming in and on the docks when we came so didn’t risk going there...went down the shore a bit instead. Depth entered same as last test 2 months ago rather than normally exact measurement. Water is clear and levels appear to be about the same as before. Pair of swans, many ducks and Canada Geese around.

  • 16 May 2020

Port Perry Marina near Palmer Park by Heather Ross

No rain in past 24 hrs. Dock closed off so couldn’t test at usual location , so used the average water level for our test today since it appears to be as we would expect. Water fairly clear and some algae accumulated alongside the pier but not too bad yet. Lots of people all around the area today...seagulls too.

  • 16 May 2020

Nonquon River Environmental Education Centre by Heather Ross

Partly cloudy and calm. No rain in past 24 hrs. Saw porcupine climbing up a tree nearby as we walked to test location and a family of either beavers or muskrats ( too far to be able to tell which exactly ) swimming around downstream of us. Lots of chickadees and other songbirds, and red winged blackbirds here. So much green slimy algae everywhere and river seems to be much lower than we remember seeing it since we’ve been coming here....wonder if beavers have been doing some of their work to affect this?
