    Front St Farmer’s Market at Riverfront Square by Don Ross

    Overcast and raining lightly now and about 6 MM rainfall overnight. No wildlife around. White foamy stuff floating on the surface along much of the rock wall edge along the river. Fairly strong current.

    Virginiatown Community Park & Boat Launch/Marina by Don Ross

    Partly cloudy with a lot of rain in past 24 hours. Saw a red fox on the highway near here as I cycled back from testing. Several people fishing tonight and I talked with some and gave them cards about WR. They were hoping to catch bass, trout and pike.

    Overcast now and a bit of rain in past 24 hours. Heard a woodpecker, saw a loon, dragonflies, a fish jumping and plenty of mosquitoes.

    Kiwanis Boat Launch off Hwy 62 S of Madoc by Don Ross

    Clear sky and calm. Songbirds heard and lots of small minnows swimming in the water along the summer dock that’s fully in place now.

    Sunny and humid day with moderate winds and no rain in past 24 hours. Too hot for birds or wildlife to be around today….just some tourists and a crazy cyclist ….ME! :)

    Black River marsh outlet from stream by Don Ross

    Overcast with threatening rain clouds forming. No rain in past 24 hours. Pair of nesting swans that are always here in this part of the river this spring. Lots of red winged blackbirds, frogs and toads heard, songbirds, dragonflies and mosquitoes. Some green algae and usual weeds. Beavers have dammed up the culvert under the road so not much flow so on other side of the road water level quite high. Roads crew notified earlier this month and no actions taken as of yet.

    Pt. Petre Provincial Wildlife Area by Don Ross

    Sunny with a few clouds and no rain in past 24 hours. Saw an eagle flying overhead and mosquitoes out in force along with some blackflies.

    Birdhouse City Pond by Don Ross

    Sunny with partly cloudy overcast sky. No rain in past 24 hours. Mosquitoes active now…water bugs and many tingly black tadpoles visible swimming in the water near shore. Good sign for frog and toad populations here in the pond.

    Clear skies and not much wind. Water flowing over the dam. Birds heard singing and lots of water bugs. Some white foam accumulating along the rocks.

    Partly cloudy with high cirrus clouds. No rain in past 24 hours. Heard Lots of loud toads croaking, and saw many red winged blackbirds, pair of swans, swallows, dragonflies, water bugs and a turtle.
