East Bayshore Waterfront Park and Herchimer Rd Boat Launch in Belleville by Don Ross

Noticed that the summer dock is in place so did just the depth measurement and secchi from the end of the dock, since last time we tested here couldn’t do it from where normally done.

  • 24 April 2022

Prinyer’s Cove Park & Boat Launch by Don Ross

Sunny with some wispy clouds and quite windy. A few MM rain in past 24 hours. Look fishing on the lake and some fishermen and boaters too from the look of the parking lot. No docks in place yet so measured from the shoreline instead… only .2 deep so won’t enter that data and mess up the averages. Lots of midges/lake bugs in clouds as I biked here.

  • 24 April 2022

Prinyer’s Cove Source by Don Ross

Lots of seagulls on the water, a loon , pair of swans and a few ducks around. Plenty of small black lake flys / midges that gather in clouds when weather warms as it has today.

Kiwanis Boat Launch off Hwy 62 S of Madoc by Heather Ross

Very foggy here now, overcast with some light rain and more overnight. Some ducks out on the lake and songbirds heard. Summer dock not yet in place and permanent pier is partly submerged by the high water line now. Took depth measurement from as far out as I could walk without getting soaked….won’t reflect true average depth.

  • 12 April 2022

Centennial Park in Town of Deseronto by Heather Ross

Sunny calm day with just a few MM rain fall overnight in most regions. No summer dock installed yet so depth measurement will reflect it being taken from end of the one section in place now. No wildlife seen or heard here at this time.

  • 12 April 2022

East Bayshore Waterfront Park and Herchimer Rd Boat Launch in Belleville by Don Ross

Sunny calm day with a few MM rainfall overnight in the region. Some Canada Geese, seagulls, songbirds and a loon out on the lake today. Summer dock not installed yet so depth measurement taken from the winter pier so won’t be as deep as normally shown when testing from end of the summer dock.

  • 12 April 2022

First Bridge on County Rd 28 by Don Ross

Sunny calm day with just a few MM rainfall overnight in many areas. Red Winged blackbirds, ducks, Canada geese and a swan seen here today. Nice not seeing so many weeds as are here later in the season. Water had a bit of flow to it under the bridge, which helps.

  • 8 April 2022

Little Bluff Conservation Area by Don Ross

Sunny day with distant clouds out over the lake. Had about 14 MM rain overnight and 16 MM the day before. Canada Geese were on the marsh pond coming down to the beach, and several dozen loons were fishing and floating on the water offshore in the lake. Biggest gathering of loons I’ve ever seen, including all my time in northern and NW Ontario. Wish I had a better camera to have taken some good images, but they drifted out too far when I came down to the beach.

  • 6 April 2022

  • 5 April 2022

    Ottawa River by Inga Chisholm

This location is on the Ottawa River just above the Carrion Dam. It takes a little longer for the ice to break up here even with the current because of the flow being blocked by the dam.
