Pair of commercial fishermen coming into dock from setting their nets as I was testing so had a nice chat with them about the lake conditions and our water testing. Directed them to the site for more information. They mentioned when I asked what changes they’ve noticed on the lake over the past few years : more blue/green algae blooms, Asian carp and some other invasive fish species like Tench and Zander which they report to the Ministry of Fisheries when they find them in their nets. Good indicators of lake health though is their spring catch of yellow perch being very good and they’re a fish that prefers clean waters so this is a good
