Crystal Creek Case Rd by Community Volunteers

The water flow is slow because ethe beaver dam has grown in size. It looked like someone removed some of the dam debris but the beavers replaced it- and look much steadier then last week. There is natural debris on the water upstream from the fallen tree that is decomposing. It is blocking some flow. No evidence of other wildlife present. Water level downstream below the riprap dam- prevention of fish travel- but in spring did not stop sea lampreys from coming up creek.

  • 12 September 2025

Root River Old Garden River by Community Volunteers

There was algae on the rocks along the shoreline. Along with oxidizing bacteria. There were orange blooms along the shoreline. The beavers have been busy, no dam built because the altitute of the water flow is elevated and flat where the beaver lodge is. The beavers were on the water after i monitored and were feasting on frogs- Green.

Cold Water Creek at Old Garden River Road by Community Volunteers

The water was cloudy - no rainfall in past 24hrs- which made this confucing. There was a blue heron on the water and two water fowl (mallards)upstream from sample location. The aquatic vegetation ocntinues to grown in abundance. There is some for-get -me -knots in the water but the Eldoea canadennis has taken over. There is an abundance out of the water on the shorelines. There is large deposits of sand and clay that were not evident before.
