    Root River Wishart Park by Community Volunteers

    The site is safe. Park/Recreation is a pollution sources in the immediate surroundings. There has been a bigger clay slide on the bank directly , it looks unstable and there is a possibility of another slide. The clay is impermeable. This could pose future issues. Plus the clay is slowing changing the substrate of the river at this location, where it was cobble and pebble previously. The river has changed since last season there are two separate channels. There are cobble stones push up on the right bank that were not previously there. There is garbage on the right bank of the river. When the bridge opens, it would be easy to cleanup all the litter that was carried on shore from the spring freshet. Refer to last years photos.

    Cold Water Creek at Old Garden River Road by Community Volunteers

    Watch your footing. there are hidden rocks in the grasses. There was several aquatic plants- see photos. Should be identified. Elodea Canadensis. And what looks like water forget-me-nots but they are completely submerged and are located in the middle of the creek. I am not sure of the identification BUT they do appear to be. Check into this. The types of Algae visible are unique. They are formed around sediment, and look in different shapes.

    Crystal Creek Case Rd by Community Volunteers

    The fence can be hard to cross to get to the sample location. Watch your footing for the lose rocks hidden by the grasses, sedges and other vegetation. The creek has changed since last season. There are two stream runs, with a cobble, pebble island. The channels on either side of the stream have eroded and are deeper then last season. Check the depths and photos for verification. Upstream there is a dam of debris from a massive tree that is not due to a beaver BUT there could be a beaver contributing to it in the future. There is evidence of a beaver in the area. The culvert is approximately the same water level as last spring but downstream from the culvert sand pile has grown.

    Root River Old Garden River by Community Volunteers

    If you are driving parking can be difficult. Ensure to look for oncoming traffic as you pull into the area. The rocks down to the sample location are difficult and slippery. The terrain is uneven. Fishing line tangled in two locations. There was fishing line tangled up in two locations. This is plastic and can easily degrade. There is a pile of natural debris across from the sample site. The foundation of it, is a tree that has fallen. This tree was a identifying marker for water level last season at this site. The vegetation is starting to surface.

    Little Carp River Carpin Beach Rd by Community Volunteers

    Sand is the dominant substrate at this location; therefore, wear boots to monitor here. Access to the location is from private property, and the area is not maintained, and has lots of high vegetation. Dress accordingly, and use bug spray if possible. Observed a fish and it could be a Loach or Eel.
