Observations

  • 22 August 2025

West Davignon Brookfield Ave by Community Volunteers

Strong odour in the air could be cedar? Some litter around the location (a Tin can, a plastic bottle). Very tiny fish were observed in the creek.

  • 22 August 2025

Upper Carp River at Creek Rd/Third Line W by Community Volunteers

    Pretty clear environment.

  • 22 August 2025

East Davignon Creek Allens Side (N of 2nd Ln W) by Community Volunteers

Getting algae odour a little upstream from the monitoring location. Still observed lots of fish at the location and saw a frog as well.

  • 22 August 2025

East Davignon Farwell Terrace (near Tim Hortons) by Community Volunteers

Colour on the Teststrip for pH is darker than 8.4. However, 8.4 is the highest number on the Teststrip, therefore this value is entered.

  • 22 August 2025

Drake St. Park by Community Volunteers

    Strange looking black headed ducks

  • 22 August 2025

Root River Hwy 17E by Community Volunteers

First-time observation of scum on the water surface along the west bank sampling area. Also, the first time seeing algae all season.

  • 22 August 2025

Dacey Rd at St. Marys River by Community Volunteers

Due to strong southwest winds, St. Mary's water was pushed upstream into stormwater drainage basin. Water was turbid from river wave action. The actual drainage from the stormwater pipe was negligible. Chemical analysis likely reflects the river water and not the stormwater.

  • 18 August 2025

Cold Water Creek at Old Garden River Road by Community Volunteers

The forget-me-nots are growing submerged but are not blooming. There is an abundance of Waterweed (Elodea canadensis). It is not brazialian elodea but of course water bodies should continuously be observed for new aquatic vegetation and aware of invasive species and their physical characteristics. No evidence of beavers at this location currently. The culverts are slightly blocked but they have been this way since the spring. The algae is unique at this location and continue sto be. The round puck of algae that resembles moss continues to change form and grow. Currently the balls are below the ample site although they were at the sample site in the spring and last fall. There are other forms and or species of algae at this location that can be seen above and below the sample location. They are continued to be observed.

  • 17 August 2025

East Davignon Farwell Terrace (near Tim Hortons) by Community Volunteers

  • 17 August 2025

Upper Carp River at Creek Rd/Third Line W by Community Volunteers

  • 17 August 2025

East Davignon Creek Allens Side (N of 2nd Ln W) by Community Volunteers

Fish are still here in the creek. Couldn't find any of them upstream from the monitoring location.

  • 15 August 2025

    Bellevue Marina by Community Volunteers

Lots of boats and water rides are seen, some birds as well. And due to the heavy wind, the bridge was almost floating on it's own, quite unstable and not safe for someone to get there alone, specifically if he/she doesn't know swimming.

  • 15 August 2025

Big Carp River Herkimer Rd by Community Volunteers

The water level is very high, covering where we usually stand to test from. Vegetation is much too high. pH 0 - Likely data entry or measurement error. Raw value retained for transparency. Flagged as suspect.

  • 15 August 2025

Little Carp River Carpin Beach Rd by Community Volunteers

Water depth 27 m - Likely data entry or measurement error. Raw value retained for transparency. Flagged as suspect.

  • 15 August 2025

Whitefish Island East Viewing Platform by Community Volunteers

Rise in water levels, but rocks weren't even slippery, barely any 'new' algae had developed. Water seemed super clean, flow was faster, and it was loud. But the water was not very cold.
