Ferguson's Bay by Jenn Cuff
The Ottawa River is quiet. No motorized watercraft. Black flies have started. Fish are nibbling bugs on the water surface. Sea gulls fly down the Ottawa River.

La Passe boat launch by Cale Jackson
Cloudy. Light wind from SE. A few heavy showers in the past 24 hours. Dock is installed and is a good location to monitor for zebra mussels this summer.

Weather cloudy with sunny periods. Off shore wind coming from the east. No one on water. Green lane buoy (for Boat Bypass lanes) has disappeared.

Near mouth by Pat Tait
Weather cloudy with sunny periods. Windy. Two osprey nests visible but no sighting of osprey. Saw heron and a kayaker as well as turtle. The delta weeds are just breaking through the surface of the water. Not too thick yet. Water was surprisingly warm for so early in the year.

May 26, 2018 (9:30am) Downstream of Flag Island (N45.52114, W076.47019) Deborah Powell, and Jennifer Haughton Weather in past 24 hours: rain Current weather: overcast (cloud cover - 90%), wind 0-5 km/h Water levels have continued to decrease over the last week after spring flooding. Biodiversity observations - Beaver, 9 Canada Geese, 2 Loons, Spotted Sandpiper, 10 map turtles (in Haughton's Bay).

Boom Island by Jenn Cuff
My first water test at Boom Island. On three occasions a beaver slapped its tail on the surface. Trees on the island have been chewed and toppled by beaver. Red squirrel persistently chattered loudly. Sea gulls flying down river.

Baie Haughton by Jennifer Haughton
A dead yellow perch floated into shore. Relatively large, appears to be a female, that was possibly carring eggs. There are also lots of observations of strands of yellow perch eggs near the shorelines (see second picture).
