    Near mouth by Pat Tait

    There is a lot more Purple Loosestrife this year in comparison to the past 2 years although blooms are just about finished. Osprey stand visible - no Osprey in sight. Two boats with fishermen. Children playing at shoreline.

    Lavergne Marsh by Pat Tait

    Sounds of bullfrogs. Geese flying in formation overhead Secchi site was very weedy. Unsure if secchi disappeared or was hidden by weeds. Water very murky.

    Upstream of Norway Bay by Riverwatcher Ottawa

    Clear/Partly cloudy. No signs of pollution, some people fishing and recreational boats on the river. Nearby stream is still flowing. Small invasive lily-pad like plants, but less than last year.

    August water testing (August 25, 2017) Location: 45.52125, -76.47275 Current weather: sunny Weather in past 24 hours: sunny, partly cloudy Wildlife Observed: immature bald eagle, belted kingfisher, double crested cormorant, 1 map turtle (pH, alkalinity and hardness measured using 6 way test strips) Also took sample for microplastics

    a sunny, breezy day - perfect to be on the water. But no one else was out! We had our grandchildren (9 and 6) with us helping do the testing.
