    Weather was mixed sun and cloud with a good breeze blowing. Had a light shower while testing.It had rained a bit earlier in the day. One boat was out enjoying the river, too.

    Wind has died down and sun is out. A lot of cormorants. No osprey. Heard loons. The delta area seems to be getting bigger. Marsh is thick.

    Downstream Chenaux Dam by Barry Stemshorn

    Two bald eagles sitting on a branch above nest about 1 km downstream from sampling site. The nest was formerly used by ospreys but was taken over by a bald eagle 2 years ago - said to be a male with no mate. This is the first siting of 2 eagles sitting above the nest.

    Calm water surface on this sunny warm day, large black water spiders and water bugs swimming about. Minnows, smaller blue Dragonflies, chirping birds, chattering red squirrel and healthy shoreline foliage.

    The water surface is calm and has many water bugs & water spiders. A mature osprey flew overhead hunting and diving into the Ottawa River. Sea gulls flew downstream on the Ottawa River.
