    Urban contamination suspected but not confirmed, due to recent heavy rains, and water treatment deficiencies.

    Dramatic increase in total coliforms suspected to be due to urban release of sewage, but not able to confirm. Other increases in coliform samples have been noted when Pearl River level increases.

    The results of this sampling indicated a significant increase in Other Coliforms. It’s also the first instance of E Coli showing up during a sampling of this site. The water seemed higher than normal, was choppy, and full of debris. Dredging is being done nearby and may be a factor in these readings. However since this location is just beginning to be sampled, it’s difficult to know what is normal for this time of year.

    There were people out fishing. The water was high and didn’t smell bad. Birds were flying around. It was very sunny, and there were a lot of bugs out.
