It was very sunny but there was occasional cloud cover. People were out fishing and enjoying the day. The water was a bit high, but lower than last month. The water smelled fine, however the air smelled of dead fish. Birds were fishing and there were wasps and butterflies flying around. Some litter was along the water’s edge.

Pearl River at Carroll Loop by Theresa Thornhill

Water was too deep to measure. Heavy downpours in the afternoon everyday for the last few days. With it predicted to continue until the end of the week---I decided to go ahead and test both bacteria and chemistry elements. No River Flow or River Stage info available from the website. No readings for a couple of days.

  • 17 June 2025

    East Spillway by LeAnn Nealey

River up, but not too high; 2 gates wide open on spillway; herons and egrets as sun is coming up

  • 14 June 2025

    Madison Landing by Jennifer Sigrest

Partly cloudy with some light rain sprinkles as sampling began. About half of the first sample taken rolled off the R-card, which may explain the significant difference in coliforms from that sample from the others
