Humber Bay Park West main boat launch into cove by Korice Moir
Red winged blackbird got very close. Perched on car side mirror to say hello. Busy boat launch despite being submerged by high water level. Took tests then went stand up paddling #SUP. First time!

Beautiful sunny day. It was difficult to get a true bottom depth reading, due to the current. My reading is 5m +/- 1m. Many birds and American toads about. No DO test performed.

Observation made as part of the Celebrate Our Rivers paddle series. Overcast day, some sun. Many painted turtles basking on logs in the creek. Many birds, red-winged blackbirds, cedar waxwings, grackles, eastern kingbirds, and more.

High water levels. First sighting of night heron (in tree along trail at foot of Superior and Lake Shore Boulevard West) while walking to this site. Water quite stinky. Ducks came by to check me out.

Usual spot for picnic table by boat launch engulfed in water. Highest I’ve seen. Line of flotsam suggests high wave action. One swan. One dog walker. Curious people driving by.

Mouth of Black Bay at confluence of Petawawa River by Kim Emde
Very windy and cloudy. Thunderstorms the night before. There was a strong current downstream into the Petawawa River. Secchi Disk at 45 degrees: maximum string length 14 metres -- did not touch bottom, therefore actual depth is at least 10m.
