  • 10 November 2021

Birdhouse City Pond by Don Ross

Sunny and calm day with about 4 MM rainfall in the area over past 24 hours. 2 workers cleaning out the leaves and clutter that had been clogging the drain where it flows from the pond to the stream. Maybe this will help with the green algae in the water that seems more than usual. Evidence of beaver activity in fallen trees, although their damn has gone now and lodge too.

  • 10 November 2021

Picton Harbour at Mouth of Marsh Creek by Don Ross

Sunny calm day with about 4 MM rainfall overnight. Some seagulls flying around. About 3 large carp swimming along the bottom feeding and many others laying dead in the water and along the shoreline. Haven’t seen this happen before…maybe a natural cycle …or not? I left message with Shire Hall in Picton to let them know of this and hope to hear back from them. If nothing else, it’s a smelly eyesore right now.

  • 6 November 2021

Stream/falls at Cty Rd 10 near Cty Rd 13 by Don Ross

Sunny calm day with just a few thin clouds forming. No rain in past 24 hours, but after having 108 Mm since Oct 22nd there is finally water running once again over the falls and into this stream and out into Lake Ontario at South Bay. It’s been bone dry since springtime. No wildlife around here.

  • 4 November 2021

East side of Hamlet of Milford K0K2P0 by Don Ross

Overcast with some sun peeling through and calm winds. No rain in past 24 hours, but since we’ve had 108 Mm rain since Oct 22nd there is finally water flowing over the dam and the river is flowing once again so we can test at this location. No wildlife around today other than the usual geese on the millpond.

  • 4 November 2021

Bridge over Black Creek on Old Milford Rd by Don Ross

Partly cloudy and calm. No rain in past 24 hours , but have had 108 MM rainfall since Oct 22nd so this is the first time there’s been enough water in this stream since spring to be able to test. Lots of weeds on both sides and no current in the creek. No wildlife today.

  • 2 November 2021

    Ottawa River by Inga Chisholm

We still had one length of dock in today. The next test will be from the shore and then perhaps from the ice the month after that.

  • 29 October 2021

Temagami Seaplane Base on Hwy 11 by Don Ross

Sunny with just a few clouds and very calm. Lake is crystal clear, although along the dock and marina there are heavy weeds sitting just below the surface in some areas. Spoke about our Water Rangers testing with the local librarian who was most interested in this and I directed her to the website for more info. A fisherman was coming along the dock to fish as I was leaving.

  • 28 October 2021

Black River outflow to Lake Ontario by Deb Hudson

There were a lot of water fowl close to the mouth of the river. After an extremely dry summer the recent rains brought up the level of the river and the water looked cleaner.

  • 28 October 2021

East of Kirkland Lake at Roadside Park by Heather Ross

Sunny calm day with no rainfall in past 24 hours. Shoreline is much further out than in past years testing here…..now a sand beach with rocks that were under water before and depth measurement taken out much more. A yellow boom in place around much of the lake which I am guessing is there due to roadwork having been done along this highway all summer long and continuing now?
