    The usual water birds, cardinals singing, some suds in the river, moderate outflow from the canal. One goose was convinced I’d come to feed him and made it difficult to fill my vial.

    Salt Creek Park Forest Preserve by Tom Kubica

    Nice blue skies, cloud free. Mild winds. Wet ground with some mud in spots. Creek was very clear. Could see to bottom. Saw 6 squirrels, 1 Blue jay, 1 American Robin, 1 Red-bellied Woodpecker.

    St. Joseph's Creek @ 59th & Williams Street by Jon Yeater

    Mild Feb so far, with little precipitation. Mostly cloudy to sunny, on and off. Highs in the 40s-50s, lows in the mid 20s-high 30s. No precip for almost a week (2/8), and no actionable snow/ice event in over three weeks (1/22). Frost events have been consistent for the past 3 weeks. Site was again stirred up by ducks.
