Bellevue Park duck pond by Iti Singh
it was very windy at the duck pond. The water was higher than when previously sampled. There is a canal for overflow from the duck pond, it enters the St. Marys. The water in the pond is not high enough, so the waters of the duck pond and the St.Marys aren't mixing. There were 20 plus female mallards and 20 plus male mallards on the pond. The pond was not clear, green and looked like algae on the bottom attached to rocks but could be decomposing leaves.

Canon Creek Old Goulais Bay Rd by Iti Singh
There is major overflow at this site. Beware without proper gear. Need to have poled to see ground under the water and saturated foliage. To properly sample, must be able to access water to the clearing area away from woody debris overflow. Do not access if not equipped or experienced after high water and cold temperatures! No way to safely access physical characteristics. Ice on left bank prevented access. The water was overflowing to the left and right bank, 3-5 meters in overflow at places. Numerous Woody debris, foam, and leaves.

Root River off Hwy 17 N (near Teen Challenge) by Iti Singh
Access point is steep, and slippery from saturated sedges. Did not enter the river, was too unsafe. Pictures of wetted width area to measure next time, when accessible. Free flowing water moving down the gully from the highway, runoff.

Cold Water Creek at Old Garden River Road by Community Volunteers
Watch footing lots of woody debris and uneven ground from where a tractor of sorts, ripped up the ground (big holes) and levelled the shrubs (riparian and beyond, willow daggers pointed up). The mud is slippery, there is a small running ditch that joins the creek now, and it has to be crossed (rubber boots recommended). There is a beaver presence at the back of the creek where it turns in.

Bellevue Park Topsail Island by Community Volunteers
Watch out for the rock formations along the bank, and watch footing along the path to the shorefront. Spring turnover. St. Mary's was rough, white caps, and very windy and snowy. The water was cloudy and whitish. The water was much higher compared to previous site visits. The rock riparian is touching the water and is partially submerged compared to not being touched by water last visit. There were no boats in visibility on the river.
