    Mobile, Alabama, off of Riverside Drive by David Strain

    Salinity at surface 5 PPT, 18" below surface 5 PPT, at bottom 7.5 PPT. ENE wind at 10 mph. Scattered eel grass and leaves on surface by shore/bulkhead. Water depth 2.0 meters. High tide starting to fall. Pelicans and sea gulls/tern diving out front of site for fish. Lots of fish (mullet?) breaking (swirls and some jumping) the water. Numerous fish schools (mullet, menhaden, ?) noted this week as water surface wrinkles around school. Very hot for the last several weeks. Over 90 degrees F for weeks....nights in the mid to low 70s.

    Water brownish-green. Minnows breaking the water. Leaves scattered on water surface. 5" turtle observed. Small 3"-4" fish popping the surface. 1 fish jumped downstream about 50' from monitoring site .Depth at 1.2 m.
