2.3" rain in last 7 days at sample site. 3.68" of rain in last 18 days. Humidity at 90% at sampling time. 3 to 5 mph SE wind. Hazy with cumulus clouds. Outgoing tide. Thousands of water striders (Gerridae) on water surface. Long thin river grass strands floating on top of water. Lots of thin 3-d web like river grass has grown in shallow waters and is being flushed out by rain waters into the main river channel.

Some rain almost every day appears to be keeping the salt water out of the river at test site. North wind 5-10 mph. Subtropical depression about 100 miles to the east. Samples taken at surface, 18" from surface, and 6" from bottom all had 0 PPT salt content.

Salinity at surface 0 ppt Using a remote sampler: 18" from surface 1 ppt 6" from bottom 1 ppt 0.1" rain in past 10 days. Sunny, no clouds today. Nigh pressure. Rising tide. Small shad schools are in river. Red fish and speckled trout are being caught at the test site at night (sometimes). Fishing success varies significantly. Long nose gar fish are commonly seen at night under the light. Bald eagle was seen downstream this week. Seagulls and brown pelicans are in area frequently. Blue birds have flown through and nested. Humming birds are frequenting bird feeders.

Beautiful day. Sunny w/clouds. West Wind 1-5mph. Tide medium low. 0.5" of rain two days prior to observation. Birds: Eastern blue birds are passing through and nesting in bird houses near river. Humming birds have arrived. Seagulls and terns are on river along with Canadian geese and brown pelicans after bait fish. Saw several Rose-Breasted Grosbeak migrating through area back up north.
