    Jefferson Ave Bridge, Naperville, West Branch DuPage River by Julie Kulak

    I attached a plastic sporting event cup to kite string to lower into the river from the bridge. While I was on the bridge unspooling it into the river the string unexpectedly ended - and the sting/cup floated down to the river and drifted downstream. Had to run home to rig up another one and make sure the string as continuous this time! I'll watch for the cup downstream, hopefully I can collect it soon. Saw a Great Blue Heron, 4 mallards (2 drakes, 2 hens), and heard a GHO. There is a patch of knotweed growing near my site, which I am really worried about. It's been reported to the Naperville Park District..

    Plum Creek at Klemme by Jane Schulten

    Klemme Creek very iced over, but free moving located on west side. Sorry this sample was not completed in Novermber. Illness, holiday and cold weather got in the way. Will take another sample later in the month.

    DuPage River Park - Small Pond - Site 2 by Leah Gladkowski

    Ice was forming on the edges of two sides of the lake. Water flow into and out of the lake was low. Ducks were swimming and eating in the lake. Test was performed at 1:15 pm.

    Nippersink Creek at the Keystone Landing in McHenry County Conservation District's Glacial Park Conservation Area by Sue Rose

    This sample was taken near the bridge that crosses over the Nippersink Creek at Barnard Mill Road and Keystone Road as I was still waiting for my permit approval to take the sample just a few feet downstream at the Keystone Landing, which is located in the Glacial Park Conservation Area. My permit has now been approved by the Conservation District, therefore subsequent samples will be taken at the Keystone Landing as this is a much safer area to access the creek
