  • 10 December 2024

Rock Run Creek by Andy Neill

Much of the Rock Run Creek at this site near Essington Road Access, Joliet, IL, was covered in a thin sheet of ice, but has since melted completely with unseasonably high temperatures in past 72 hours in 50-60 degree F range.

  • 10 December 2024

Creek Bend Pond by Lisa O'Brien

Temperatures have been fluctuating from bitter cold to 50's over the last couple of weeks. Brief snow, but no need for salting. Rain event about 2 weeks ago. Test strip registered about .6, much less than expected, providing less than 30 ppm. Ice was thick enough couldn't get a lot of water and very close to edge of pond.

  • 9 December 2024

    Waubonsie Creek by Mary Theodor

2 test strips were used to test for accuracy. Both had Quantab readings of 4.0 which convert to 164 PPM.

  • 9 December 2024

Trinity South Pond - Smythe Settlement by Steve Slivka

Received three inches of rain in November which might account for the monthly decrease in Chloride.

  • 9 December 2024

Turnmill Pond - Smythe Settlement by Steve Slivka

Water level higher due to 3 inches of rain in November. This probably caused chloride to fall from 341 ppm to 158 ppm.

  • 9 December 2024

Army Trail West Pond - Smythe Settlement by Steve Slivka

Received three inches of rain in November which might account for the monthly decrease in Chloride.

Bayou Path Dr Stream in Atwater Subdivision by Lisa Hjorth

The large pond (inflow) had some thin ice on it. The water flowed where I tested, so it was without ice. The city had salted the nearby road on 12.05.2024 following a mild snowfall.

  • 9 December 2024

Lisle Community Park Boat Launch near Short St on East Branch DuPage River by S Neufelder

Did a QC test today with a second test strip. The result was 3.4 Quantab units whereas the first test strip showed between 3.4 and 3.6 Quantab units. The last picture includes the second test strip to the right of the first test strip.

  • 8 December 2024

Round Meadow Lake by Jane Barnett

The lake was mostly frozen over, but by moving about 100 yards away from my usual site, the ice was thinner, and I could get water. There was significantly less chloride than any other time I've tested this lake.
