    Weather has been cold but sunny with no recent precipitation. There is 5" of snow on the ground and ice/snow covering the creek except where the bridge where the sample is taken.

    North Branch Chicago River at Edgebrook Woods by Alan Matson

    8 inches of snow last week. Very cold all week, snow still on ground. Much salt application on nearby streets. The river is completely iced over except small patch with rock ripples where I sample.

    Snow storm January 24-25. Water is covered by ice, but could still retrieve sample. Chloride reading is 109ppm, Quantab unit is 3.2 in photo.
