About this dataset

Data collected during regular (quarterly) field-based (citizen scientist) analysis of parameters during the AQuA project, which is investigating water quality in Yorkshire rivers. Quarterly data collection will occur at pre-determined intervals, and will complement rapid response data collection following observed pollution events (separate dataset). Parameters of interest are E.coli and Phosphate. Water samples are also collected for laboratory analysis.

Certification requirements

Training in methods by University of York. Use of approved AQuA toolkit equipment and data collection methods.

Concerns
Increased understanding of phosphate and e.coli in Yorkshire Rivers. Comparison between sites of interest to create regional picture of water quality in Yorkshire. Data may be used to lobby policy change and increase awareness of water quality challenges/success.
