Dataset summary

Observations

  • 21 June 2023

Old Trace Park by Jennifer Sigrest

Water was very smooth. About 50 geese were swimming in the water near the concrete wall prior to sampling. While sampling was being conducted, most of the geese came out of the water to the grassy bank near the concrete wall. There were a few people enjoying the park, mostly on the walking trail. Today was the first sampling of this site using the R-CARDs.

Old Trace Park by Jennifer Sigrest

The day of testing there were very few people in the park or on the water. A few geese swimming nearby. Plastic trash near the retaining wall. Lots of heavy rain in previous days including earlier on day of sampling. Reservoir water was calm. During the incubation period, electric power was lost for a couple of hours, so incubation temperature was unstable. Therefore, it is possible these results are inaccurate.
