West Spillway Dock by Laura Luke

It was bright, sunny, and hot today. There was a slight breeze. The water looked a bit lower than last time. The water didn’t stink like it did last time. There were still dead/discarded fish lying around and trash in and around the water. There were people out fishing. I saw a good amount of fishing birds, goose poop and I’m assuming goose footprints. (I included a picture.) There were little fish swimming by and lots of bugs! I saw butterflies, flies, wasps, a cricket, and dragonflies.

Water clarity was better than normal; bottom was visible to about 1 m within typical sampling area.
