Observed schools of minnows, a large musky breeched the surface with a large splash, birds are diving for fish, bugs cover the surface of the water. Lily pads and weed beds have flowered.

Observations made as part of Celebrate Our Rivers group paddle. There is a beaver lodge nearby, a yearling deer came to say hello, and there are plenty of marsh birds, dragonflies, and horseflies. Depth is at shoreline where sample was taken.

Observed Canada geese. Motorized watercraft, fishing boats travel too fast along the Bonnechere River from the Horton Boat Launch out to the Ottawa River. Choppy waters turn to calm by sunset.

Many motorized watercraft put in at the Horton Boat Launch, travelling down Bonnechere River into the Ottawa River. Boats travelling fast, leaving wake, damaging shoreline. Jumping fish, feeding. Blackflies

Port Union Waterfront Park, Scarborough by Korice Moir
Cormorant highway (to and from) just off the shoreline. Shore birds doing their thing on the beach. Geese dipping to scratch the lake bottom. Lots of people strolling along the trail.
