    Close to Lake Dore by Kim Emde

    Brown algae is floating in clumps on Lake Dore, and in the river. There is a light green Jelly-like algae(?) covering the river bottom and coating most of the aquatic plants. There are lots of small fish. We saw many kingfishers and other birds, including a Cormorant. There were a few small painted turtles.

    Kinch Bay by Doreen Watson-Donald

    Did not conduct water testing. Was out surveying the Bay for wild rice with researchers from Plenty Canada. As with Code Bay, it was noted that there is a very healthy and large acreage of wild rice that is 10-12 days from being harvestable. Rough estimates indicate that there is 200+ acres of wild rice in the Bay. Rice is healthy and showing no signs of ergot contamination.

    Did not perform water tests. Was out surveying the amount of wild rice growing in Code Bay with people from Plenty Canada as part of research program they are undertaking about wild rice. It was estimated there are approximately 200 acres of wild rice in Code Bay and it is very close to being harvestable.
