From Godalming Treatment Works by Andrew Lockett

Still low flow coming out of the STP. Alkalinity unusually low? N high (as usual). P higher than usual?

  • 25 August 2025

Unstead Exit (outflow) by Andrew Lockett

Still very overgrown so hard to get a sample (but not completely dry like in July). Both N + P high.

Landings Wood Stream by David M Jones

We are pleased to report that our little stream is flowing strongly now. As it was before a blockage occurred last year in the under-the-road passageway where the River Wey, Godalming flows into Landings Wood Stream to flow through our woodland before rejoining a mill-cut, which flows back into the River. Wey downstream.

Polsted Lane/Withies Lane stream by Trevor Murrells

Branches in water and some overhanging plants

  • 25 July 2025

Unstead Exit (outflow) by Trevor Murrells

Virtually dry although I could hear a faint trickle of water passing through the brick tower/bat roost. The lack of water relates to the blockage stopping water flowing from the 'Dry' Lagoon into the East Lagoon. The warden is not sure what the cause is but he and volunteers will continue to investigate over the coming weeks. (note the Dry Lagoon was originally dry but is now full of water! One of the first lagoons to be refilled when volunteers started working on the site)

    East Lagoon by Trevor Murrells

The East Lagoon remains dry. There appears to be a blockage stopping water flowing from the 'Dry' Lagoon into the East Lagoon. The warden is not sure what the cause is but he and volunteers will continue to investigate over the coming weeks. (note the Dry Lagoon was originally dry but is now full of water! One of the first lagoons to be refilled when volunteers started working on the site)

Water surging from the outflow pipe. More foam than normal.

Outlet into Pond Wood by Trevor Murrells

No water is flowing from the pipes. The small pool that sometimes leads into the larger pond is dry. I have cleared away stinging nettles to make access easier next time month.

Small pool on UWNR near to GSTW outflow, east side of Trunley Health Road by Trevor Murrells

The pond (close to the manhole covers on the hide path), caused by a leak, is still dry despite recent rains.
