    Quantab unit 8.8; 2" of ice on surface of creek, covered with snow.

    Richland Creek @ South Side City Park by David Laslie

    Upon approach, three or four mallard ducks flew up from the creek. Water elevation highest I've seen since sampling began. Descent into creek at usual location not safe at this time, however descent was safely achieved approx. 100' upstream, well south of the Monroe Ave. bridge.

    Conductivity meter functioning properly. Reading was "----". >1999 recorded. Two Quantab strips used for quality control. One strip reads 8.4 and the other 8.6. Chloride value recorded as >619ppm. Extrapolated value of 682ppm.
