    Heard cedar waxwings, swallows (species at risk) nesting under bridge, raccoon tracks and scat under bridge. Water brown, floating mats of algae, natural debris, residential discharge. Area may be used for fishing, water flow still. Water level low. No odour.

    McGillvray’s Bridge by Lissa Deslandes

    Pigeons under bridge, swallows nesting, green frog, bull frog, flowering rush (invasive) present, natural debris and floating algae. Residential discharge, fishing, water still, water level low, no odour. Water temp was 29 Celsius (won’t allow me to enter, it keeps changing it to water flow).

    I see trees over the water, rocks in the green but clear water. I see some birds in the shade. Insects like butterfly’s and bees appear. Flowers of purple white and yellow surround me. It appears someone is camped here too as there is a tent and what looks like the remnants of a fire.

    Huge amounts of filementous algae and aquatic plant vegetation ment there was very little area to kick sample. inverterbrates observed to be caught in algae, lots of dead inverterbrates also found in sample. Species observed with Riverfly monitoring: Gammarus = 50, waterhoglice = 200, nonbiting midge larvae =7, peamuscles = 5 leech = 7
