    Drainage ditch by Philippa Mitchell

    This is a drainage ditch that was found to be carrying grey water a few months ago. Evidence of recent water flow, but only a few puddles left. Too small and shallow to test. Water seemed clear.

    We were unable to observe any insect/mammal/bird life in or in the edges of the river. It was notable that the water opacity changed significantly in this stretch after the other branch of the Wey joined.

    three streams meet here:- ditch from Farnham was clear, flow from Bourne Mill was cloudy and there was the greatest flow from the stream supplemented by the sewage outfall about 200m away. Water sample taken from the sewage outfall flow.
