Lavergne Marsh by Pat Tait
Water still very high. Saw canoe and a small fishing boat and deer. Saw osprey . Lots of broken limbs, logs and debris along shoreline. High water mark evident.

Riverwatcher (monthly testing) (1:30pm) Weather in past 24 hrs - light rainfall Current weather - calm, clear/partly cloudy Human activity - some recreational boating, and swimming (and some seasonal residents up cleaning shorelines/cottages after severe flooding this spring) Wildlife - map turtles, bald eagle (earlier this morning)

Near Luskville by Wendy Ryan
Very calm water early in the morning. Ospreys are back. Someone destroyed their nest last fall and built a platform for them to rebuild on. Nest much smaller this year. Water level still high. Up to retaining wall at home. Allen Island mostly under water.

A warm and sunny day today (high for the day was approx. 25°C). Water levels on the Ottawa River are beginning to go down. With the high temperatures the map turtles are now out sunning on the logs. I counted 14 map turtles in the bay and saw a garter snake near the shoreline.

I found a dead pumpkinseed fish on the shoreline. Not sure how it died. Note: Water levels right how are very high. They have not been this high in about 20 years.

The bay had some ice in the morning (which probably floated in from up stream) By the evening, the ice/ slush was gone.

Jessup Falls Conservation Area by Julie Lachapelle
Sunny, cool day. No rain in the past 24 hrs. Light wind. Water moving rapidly. Traffic noise from Hwy 17 next to bridge. Didn't see any wildlife.
