    Samples were taken to compare water quality above the Shaw Woods Dam and to that of samples taken below. Data collected for analysis on the health of the Snake River and if the dam is effecting fish populations by restricting migratory patterns. Benthic Invertebrates Collected: 1 Fingernail Snail, 4 Dragon Fly Larva, 25 Backswimmers, 15 Crayfish, 4 Scuds, 12 Mayfly Larva, 1 Damselfly, 3 Horsehair Worm, 4 Caddis Fly, 1 Alderfly Larva Fish Species in Shaws Pond and the Snake River: (not collected) Yellow Perch, Rock Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Large Mouth Bass, Northern Pike, Walleye.

    Collected both fish and benthic invertebrates below the dam to see if there was any indicators of water quality. Results suggest that the water quality below the dam differs(decreases) from samples taken above. Benthics collected: 9 Crayfish (unknown), 3 Rusty Crayfish(invasive) 6 Bloodworms, 1 Leech, 1 Scud, 12 mayfly larva, numerous Nematode Fish collected: 1 Emerald Shiner, 1 Flat head Minnow, 3 Spotted Shiner, 1 Yellow Perch, 5 Golden Shiners

    Conditions calm, no cloud cover, sunny, 10:20 am The purpose of this was to take sediment grab samples, monitor water quality and observe various aquatic organisms. Equipment used: Eckman Grab Sampler Presence of Zebra Mussels: Yes; numerous, various sizes, clumps attached to rocks and embedded into lake bottom(sediment) Sediment grab observations: sandy/silty, dark brown sludge, fine particles, leaf matter. Benthic Invertebrates: 1 Sawbug, 1 Pouch Snail, 1 Orb Snail, 2 Amphiod, 2 Mayfly, 3 Midge Larva, 5 Caddis Fly, 53 Zebra Mussels Images if fish collected and released: 1.Unknown minnow with lice, 2. Blue Gill, 3. Yellow Perch and its belly/gills 4. Silver Shiner
