Old Fort Bayou Draw Bridge Boat Launch by Tim Kirkman
the observation point for this location has changed slightly. The over-growth on the bank on the west side of the bayou is making access very difficult. The boat launch is being rebuilt and will be closed for an extended length of time. The revised location is on the e East side of the bayou under the bridge with very easy "beach" access. The location is 30.418988 -88.827725

Westbrook Rd by Will McDearman
Test site is about 1/8 mile upstream from regular site that was not accessible because of Pearl River flooding. No tributaries enter the river between this interim site and the regular site. Pearl Riverkeepers considers this site representative of the regular site. River remains at flood stage with over bank flooding, although the river is on a fall. Current stage is 30' at downstream USGS Hwy 25 gauge, at flood stage, having fallen from a high of 40.8 ' on August 29. The official Pearl River USGS and NWS flood stage gauge is located further downstream at Hwy 80, currently at 27.5', down from the crest of 35.4' August 29.

-
31 August 2022
Hwy 149 by Will McDearman
Creek running slightly higher than typical summer flow, about 6" higher. Torrential rain and flooding the prior week, with flood backwater from the downstream Strong River, appears to have flooded this site with 15' or greater high water. Most of stream bank vegetation eroded, washed away. However, stream bed and banks were not cut or deeply eroded.

S Main St. Bridge by Will McDearman
Creek level about 6" above typical summer flow. High water last week flooding appears to have been about 8' above current level, as indicated by vegetation debris on bank.
