    East Lagoon - South Deck by Burke Mountain Naturalists

    Note: testing done during rainy weather. Very little waterfowl seen on pond. One Great Blue Heron perched on wildlife tree adjacent to pond. High water levels.

    West Lagoon - West/Main Deck by Burke Mountain Naturalists

    Testing done during atmospheric river event with extremely high water level in pond. Two river otters seen in West Lagoon along with variety of waterfowl, including about 16 American coots paddling in among shrubs now in standing water due to high water levels.

    Considerable number of waterfowl observed in west lagoon (i.e., American Wigeons, Coots, and Canada geese).

    Water quality test done two days after a day of heavy rains. Note: decision made t change the sampling site in the western lagoon. Samples both today and going forward will be taken on the observation deck at the west end of the western lagoon at Blakeburn.

    West Lagoon North Deck by Burke Mountain Naturalists

    Low water level at north observation deck prevented Secchi depth measurements. Consequently went to platform at centre of lagoon at western end of west lagoon and took measurements: - Secchi depth: 0.342 m - Depth: 0.49 m Used an extension pole to obtain water sample. First sample at this site.

    Appears to be very stagnant water with little circulation in this lagoon. Low water levels and no outflow at this time of year with such low water levels. Used an extension pole to obtain water sample. First sample at this site.
