Duckweir - Clitheroe Island - Boston Manor Park by Mitch Goldman

  • 11 January 2025

    Bulli Brook by Ben Morris

sewage fungus noted on stream bed, but otherwise flowing clear. recent frost but no rain or snow for last 3 days.

  • 10 January 2025

Kingsbury Brook (East) by Neil Marchant

Brook appears to have been rechannelled (environment agency?) Water enters drain screen, into a culvert before flowing out into River Brent. The water is reasonably clear in this final visible stretch. Ben and I went to observe the brook where it emerges from an outfall roughly 600m upstream. Here the water was very foul - turbid with surface scum and a bad smell.

  • 4 January 2025

Fryent Country Park by Neil Marchant

water entering further upstream from outflow showed no surface foam or film. Surface film and foam has been a usual observation on previous test visits. The location (Fryent Country Park) is very wet in winter. Surface rain water flows down from the higher ground above the stream and should dilute polluted contribution from nearby roads and built up areas in the catchment. Readings are currently much lower than in summer or early autumn.

  • 19 December 2024

Watling Park - Abbots Rd Bridge (Upstream) by Kath Vos

There has been quite a bit of rain in the previous days. The ground in the park is saturated with water.

  • 19 December 2024

Pinecone Bridge - Burnt Oak Brook in Watling Park by Kath Vos

There have been heavy downpours in previous days so it is possible dilution has happened. The ground in the park is saturated with water.
