    test was conducted at home, an hour after sample taken. riverfly cursory test was also undertaken. only hoglice and leeches were found. water was clear, with no smell. some long strands of riverbed weed were present. no fish were seen.

    Marnham Outfall by Ben Morris

    Thames Water tested this outfall 20.09.24 with these results: Temp 18.2 764.7 mmHg 49.3 DO 4.63 DO 1078 SPC 7.63 pH 18.29 NH4-N 0.27 NH3-N It is reported that 9 misconnected flats are polluting this surface water drain. It is not yet clear why they have not been rectified.

    No evidence of sewage from the Outfall, cloudy white discolouration within 2 metres of the outfall with odour observed at 1130 at the end of session not evident of 1030 - suggestive of a washing machine discharge. Reported to Thame Water Case No 00807200 - case closed by them as 'no blockage found'! ARMI Score = 7

    site located 40m from outfall inflow upstream. phosphate reading at outfall 1.00mg/l. Dilution effect? to be investigated. stream has long standing reputation for misconnections locally.

    Getting the sample was tricky due to accessability.Water was quite deep but mulitple throw ins did make it cloudy. May need to weigh down the edge of the bucket or poke it with a stick for future sample collection?
