Observations

  • 31 August 2025

Imperial Way Bridge - Lindsay Drive Roundabout by John Poole

It had rained heavily the previous day and the ammonia and phosphate readings were lower than previous readings indicating that these pollutants had been washed through the river.

  • 31 August 2025

Duckweir - Clitheroe Island - Boston Manor Park by Mitch Goldman

    1. There were houseboats moored nearby. 2. There were ducks and swans. 3. There were small floating green things in the water. I thought it was algae but it could have been plant leaves/pollen. 4. The water was the clearest I have ever seen. I could see the plants under the water.

No water at all in the usual riverfly sampling location. Did not therefore kick sample. Did collect stream sample from pool just up from where we usually sample for Hanna checks.

A boom was fitted upstream of the test area due to reported discharge from an outflow.

These readings are for the lower part of the river restoration project at Lindsay Drive roundabout.

  • 16 August 2025

Windsor Open Space - Village Road Outfall by Judith Howlett

Opportunistic sampling as passing. Ammonia only tested as awaiting more phosphate testing kits. Water from outfall looks fairly clear at the moment and no particular smell

  • 12 August 2025

    Brent Cross by Dianne Murphy

Phosphate checker flashing indicating the reading exceeded its maximum 2.50 little egret, grey wagtail, common darter and small and large white butterflies

  • 12 August 2025

    Whetstone Stray by Judith Howlett

Hot weather period continues with little rainfall so Dollis generally shallow

  • 11 August 2025

Riverside Park (Upstream) by Judith Howlett

Water level generally low due to lack of rain and gravel banks evident. Shallow but steady flow of water downstream right hand side, deeper pool collecting left hand side. Some small fry observed ARMI Score 7

Outfall at RMI Site by Judith Howlett

Since last reported this outfall has been under TW 'SWOT' and work carried out on a problem in Holden Road. Results much improved especially Ammonia down from >9.99 to 0.42 ppm Phosphate down to 1.63. There has been a boom in the Brook to help with pollution, however since yesterday morning it has now been thrown into the Outfall along with a load of logs as photo depicts. TW informed
