Duckweir - Clitheroe Island - Boston Manor Park by Mitch Goldman

    1. There are houseboats moored here. 2. Part of the river had floating algae/plants - it looked a like duckweek but I'm not sure. They were individual roundish "leaves" floating evenly spread out on the water. I took a close-up photo. 3. Part of the river was a mat of green algae, dense enough that you couldn't see the water through it. It had some household rubbish bags on it. I took a photo of that too. 4. The water level was high but very still.

    Whetstone Stray by Judith Howlett

Just an observation whilst out for exercise, water very muddy looking and deeper than usual given it hasn't rained much and water has been very clear recently. Walked northwards towards Totteridge Lane and found water gushing down the gully that enters the Dollis just below the road bridge. Water upstream of this all clear. Searched Affinity Water for any possible burst water mains and seems likely south of Whetstone High Road, Oakleigh Gardens, N20 reported and under repair today

Photos of RMI site, upstream and downstream Nicky in action

  • 9 September 2025

Folly pre confluence by Judith Howlett

Very slow running from Folly Brook down to Dollis, water most likely due to discharges rather than rain although some since last testing. Probably need to do a walk upstream and look at Outfalls

  • 9 September 2025

Riverside Park (Downstream) by Judith Howlett

There has been some rain as opposed to non since August sampling. Water remains shallow Not able to do conductivity
