- Location description
- at intersection of West Teton Drive and North Imperial Drive. Park at dead-end of Imperial Drive. Short Walk through woods to creek. Slow-moving water most times. Run-off from neighborhood, school and athletic grounds, neighborhood streets and YMCA Easy, safe access. Iris Park is at the bottom of as hill in a residential neighborhood. The steep road gets heavily salted in the winter. Site is located in a ravine at the end of a street, down an easily accessed bank. The site is wooded, highly eroded in some areas and has been extensively shored up by the Park District, with "gabions" and other methods in some places. Recently heavy earth moving equipment was used in the stream bed and on the bank. Storm drains enter into the ravine just up stream of the sampling site from both sides of the creek.
