    Stoke Lock Pontoon by Sarah Davis

    Warm Sunny Day, with thousands of insects just above the water and in the air, lots of Mayfly, Damselfly, Dragonfly, lots of Mosquitoes, lots of small birds with beaks full of insects . We say Grebes on the river again and we saw one catching a very large fish.

    Batteries flat on conductivity meter so no conductivity or water temperature readings.

    Downstream of Slyfield Treatment Works by Sarah Davis

    Lots of Bird Wildlife seen today ( See Stock Lock Pontoon) We also saw More Hens on the river. High fast flowing river , lots of rain over last 24 hours, so 'Out Let' Pipe from sewage works at Slyfield was racing out fast into the river, difficult to tell colour as moving so fast. Some Scum on river surface.

    Stoke Lock Pontoon by Sarah Davis

    Lots of Bird Wildlife on the River today. Heron. Canadian Geese, 6 Kites ( Birds of Prey ) flying above and two Grebes diving in the river and doing a Spring Courtship synchronized dance. We also saw a few long tailed tits flying back and forth across the river. Parts of the river path had fallen away into the river and was cordoned off with fencing for safety reason.

    Not much evidence of plant life in the stream. Evidence of silting/drowned worms. The water was flowing more slowly than when I visited the previous weekend.
