Sunny and clear day. Water was calm, sheltered by trees.

Clear and Sunny day. Winds from WNW at 24 kmh. Shoreline strewn with drift wood. Some waterfowl present. Beaver lodge near the east shore of this small lake. No beavers were observed, but it is in use.

Long Reach Rideau River by Linda Mellway McIntyre
Cloudy, windy. Observed painted turtle swimming near shore, Red Winged Blackbird nesting, Great Blue Heron flying alone the river's edge, River Otter, and a large Osprey catching a big fish (carp?) from the river and struggling to keep it in his beak. Water is turbid with loose seaweed.
