Observations

  • 20 August 2024

    WAG-W-02a by Carolynne Robertson

With Susan G. and Finn A. Water from this catchment noticeably "cleaner" than mainstem.

  • 20 August 2024

    WAG-M-03 by Carolynne Robertson

With testers Susan G. and Finn A. Turbidity is <14 NTU. Crayfish and stickleback seen just upstream of footbridge.

  • 20 August 2024

    WAG-E-06a by Carolynne Robertson

With testers Susan G. and Finn A. Water had slight cloudiness, but secchi disk clearly visible in tube, turbidity <14 NTU.

  • 6 August 2024

15th Street Storm drain - WAG-E-03 High Priority by Carolynne Robertson

you stopwatch and bucket method to test flow. 8 L in two seconds. Gray water smell, and faint smell of soap.

  • 6 August 2024

    WAG-E-02 by Carolynne Robertson

Strong smell of sulphur in immediate area. 2 mm height of water in pipe Slope of pipe is 12°

  • 6 August 2024

Keith Rd Storm Drain - WAG-E-01 High Priority by Carolynne Robertson

  • 2 August 2024

15th Street Storm drain - WAG-E-03 High Priority by Carolynne Robertson

  • 29 July 2024

    MIS-E-01 by Carolynne Robertson

Flow measured using 20L bucket and stopwatch. Flow is >20L/2.3 seconds.

  • 29 July 2024

    MIS-W-01 by Carolynne Robertson

Flow is approximately 80% of MIS-E-01 observation (>20L/ 2.3 seconds) taken same day.

  • 29 July 2024

    WAG-E-06a by Carolynne Robertson

Very high energy flow. Grab sample collected ~10m from concrete slab discharge point - unable to approach pipe due to safety. Lower conductivity due to increased water volume. This location more turbid than other locations sampled in same time period. 6PPD-Q sample collected.

  • 29 July 2024

    WAG-E-07 by Carolynne Robertson

Foam observed on water, high energy flow, water is brownish and cloudy.

  • 29 July 2024

15th Street Storm drain - WAG-E-03 High Priority by Paul Lhotka

turbidity <14. Abundant foam in plunge pool. Estimated flow well over 50l/sec. 6PPD-Q sample collected for T. Rodgers.

  • 29 July 2024

    WAG-M-02 by Paul Lhotka

noticeable turbidity and foam in the the creek Chloride reading of 0 ppm changed to chlorine by admin (jonas@waterrangers.ca)

  • 29 July 2024

    WAG-W-03 by Carolynne Robertson

High energy flow, "first flush" rainfall event. Lower conductivity due to increased water volume. Foam and brownish cloudy water. Water sample collected from ~20m downstream of culvert opening.

  • 29 July 2024

    MIS-M-01 by Paul Lhotka

    minor foam and noticeably turbid

  • 29 July 2024

Keith Rd Storm Drain - WAG-E-01 High Priority by Paul Lhotka

Tried bucket flow but fills bucket so fast I can't time it and I can´t get all the flow into the bucket. >20 liters/sec Violent flow! White foam coming from storm pipe. Creek also contains foam. Foam from hydrocarbons??

  • 27 July 2024

    WAG-W-03 by Carolynne Robertson

water temps taken from conductivity meter. Visible scum and oil residue on water surface of plunge pool. Water clarity is <14 NTU (water column clear - unable to enter "<" symbol ).

  • 27 July 2024

15th Street Storm drain - WAG-E-03 High Priority by Carolynne Robertson

spill reported at 11 am, white substance, but no trace now. chemical smell around plunge pool typical of this location. water temps taken from conductivity meter. cloudy water in pool but not significantly turbid. pipe has relatively low flow.
